Topics to be Covered:
FHWA will be discussing the Manual on Uniforms Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) generally and Chapter 8 which pertains to crossings. Who is responsible for what around the crossing, railroad or roadway authority. MA DOT will discuss the State Action Plan and the requirements for incursion on the dynamic envelopes and municipal responsibilities. FRA will discuss Emergency Notification System (ENS) the blue and white signs and when DPW’s should call the railroad to ensure personal safety.
